Age
The driver’s age must be minimum 23 years old.
Driving license
Valid driving license with an issue date at least 12 months prior to rental. Driving licenses issued within EU are accepted. Driving licenses issued outside EU or without Latin characters, must be accompanied by a valid International Driving License.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In case an International Driving License is required, the driver must also have his/her national driving license in his/her possession. Otherwise, the International Driving License is not valid and therefore not accepted.
Only original driving licenses are accepted. Hard copies, digital copies, or any other forms are not accepted.
Theft Protection
The renter is insured in case the vehicle is stolen, except if theft occurs because of negligence. Any stolen belongings in the interior of the car (eg. cameras, travel bags or cell-phones) are not covered by any insurance.
Mileage
Unlimited.
Traffic Violations, Traffic fines and Administrative Sanctions
Tickets and appended administrative sanctions resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic law during rental period, is solely the renter's responsibility. If any such administrative sanction is not disclosed to the company at the end of the rental period (contract), the violation will be charged to the renter.
Car Condition
If you return the car with a lot of dirt (too much sand on the seats, interior livery and floor, stains of sea salt, sunscreen, food, drinks, etc.) which require special cleaning to restore the interior of the car in its original condition, there will be an extra charge. The charge amount will depend on the type and proportion of dirt.
Damage in the interior of the vehicle caused by inappropriate use or smoking will be charged.
Smoking is prohibited in the interior of the vehicles.
Animals of any kind are not allowed inside the vehicles, except if they are in a suitable transportation equipment.
Key Loss
The customer is liable for all costs to replace keys which have been lost or damaged, the cost of retrieval of keys which have been locked inside a vehicle.
Ferrying the vehicle & Across the border rentals
Ferrying the car to and from any island or mainland is not allowed. All insurances will be voided and the renter will be responsible for any damage caused if the vehicle is driven elsewhere than Crete Island. In such case, an additional fee will be paid.
Accident
In case of an accident, the renter must contact our company immediately via our 24/7 helpline in order to receive instructions on how to handle the situation. You are not allowed to leave the incident place without reporting the accident. If you cannot contact our company, you should contact directly the police. If the renter fails to provide the report to our company, then he is obliged to pay for repairing costs of any damage caused to the rental vehicle. If the driver or one of the passengers is injured you should also inform police/ambulance. If by any chance the other involved party leaves the accident place, take a photo or write down the license plate number. We will also call our insurance partner for an accident report. It is prohibited to drive under alcohol influence and disobey traffic rules.
Roadside Assistance
Our company’s rental cars are covered by 24hours road assistance. Road assistance’s contact details are stated on the rental contract.
Additional Drivers
All additional drivers can be registered without any additional charge. Maximum three (3) drivers including the main driver are allowed per rental.
Infant Seat, Baby Seat and Booster Seat
We offer 3 different types of child seats (Infant seat, Baby seat, Booster seat), without any additional charge, upon request.
Car Replacement
In case of the unfortunate event of an accident/breakdown resulting in the immobilization of the vehicle, your car will be replaced with another one within 24 hours from the time the accident/breakdown has been reported. Our company has the right to investigate the causes of the accident/breakdown and deny the replacement of the car if the use of the car was against the terms & conditions.
Deposit
The amount of the deposit we need is 500€, blocked in the renter’s credit card.
Taxes
All rates include 24% VAT.
Insurances
The driver(s) designated in the agreement, they benefit from an automobile insurance policy covering civil liability, material damage and bodily injury that they could cause to third parties.
INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS
Damage caused as a result of the vehicle being driven on a road that was not suitable for that vehicle. You are not allowed to drive to Balos by any of our vehicles.
The Renter also agrees that personal belongings and other items left in the car at any time are not covered.
Accidents
In case of a collision, accident, sinister or any other incident with or without a third-party involvement, the renter should immediately inform the car rental company, via our 24/7 helpline in order to receive instructions on how to handle the situation, and the police. Renter is responsible in the next 24 hours from the accident / incident to receive and bring to the rental company a full completed police report.
If the Renter fails to provide the report to the Owner, then he/she is obliged to pay for repairing costs of any damage caused to the rental vehicle. If the Renter or one of the passengers is injured you should also inform police/ambulance. If by any chance the other involved third-party leaves the accident place, the Renter must take a photo or write down the license plate number.
More specifically the Renter must
In the case of accident or theft the client is responsible for the deductible stated in the specific conditions of the contract.
The car rental will replace the damaged car with similar upon availability within 24 hours.
If an accident occurred, regardless of fault, the Owner may charge immobilization fee, loss of use, administration fee 120€ and / or towing and transfer of the vehicle.
Failure to report accidents truthfully and in keeping with the rental terms and conditions may result the driver being liable for all claims costs.
Only the Renter or the drivers identified in the specific conditions of the contract might subscribe the coverages stated above.
The Renter may not, with the argument of a third-party liability, refuse or suspend payment of the costs of repairs or indemnities for which he may be liable in any capacity whatsoever to the Owner, the liability being defined by the insurer.
Fuel policy
Renters are requested to return the vehicle with a full fuel tank, like it was supplied at the time of collection. Missing fuel will be charged per liter (daily rate) and an additional charge of 15 EUR will be applied (Refueling Fee).
Additional rental charges
Damage in the interior of the vehicle caused by inappropriate use or smoking will be charged. The Renter also pays a reasonable fee for cleaning the car’s interior upon return if any stains, dirt, odor, or soiling attributable to your use cannot be cleaned with our standard post-rental procedures as determined by us in our sole discretion. The charge amount will depend on the type and proportion of dirt.
The Owner maintains a non-smoking fleet, including a prohibition on the use of e-cigarettes in the car. The Renter may pay an additional charge if you return the car and it smells or is soiled from smoke or e-cigarette vapor.
If the key(s) or key fob(s) are not returned with the car, the Renter will be charged additional fees.
The Renter and any third party to whom any rental charges are billed, such as an insurer or employer, are jointly and severally responsible for payment of all such charges. If you direct us to bill any such charges to a third party, you represent that you are authorized to do so on behalf of the third party.
Deposit
By express agreement between the parties, the amount of the deposit is fixed at 500€. The deposit amount will be blocked (not debited) on the Renter’s credit card at pick-up time.
The deposit will be used to settle any extra and additional charges you incur whilst renting the vehicle from us (including fuel missing at return, extra-day, one-way charge, etc.).
Contract Duration
The maximum duration of a contract is thirty-one (31) days. During long-term rentals, the contract will be renewed every thirty-one (31) days.
